Paris has 20 arrondissements (neighborhoods).
We did research so that we would know in advance which places to visit during our free times.
Towards this end, we purchased several travel guides on Paris.
As shown above, there is no shortage of resources. Many include maps of the individual neighborhoods.
At a local consignment shop, we found a hard-bound copy of a book entitled: The Secrets of PARIS for $1.00 USD.
The photos helped identify the places we wanted to visit. Today, it serves as a memory book.
Throughout our time in Paris, however, we always carried Rick Steve's PARIS 2019 guidebook with foldout map.
You never know when you will need it!

Everything we read, said... travel lightly. This is the one time you don't need the kitchen sink!
Too much weight will slow you down, especially if you are moving from one hotel to another.
Do an honest assessment of your age; how much you are able to carry for prolonged periods of time.
Other factors are a matter of personal preferences: hard versus soft travel bags, carry-on bags versus checked baggage,
money belts versus travel vests with zippered pockets, dollars versus euros. The best resource book for us was:
Rick Steves' Europe Pre-Tour Planner! The easy-to-use Table of Contents will point you in the right direction.
Initially, we bought (2) 22" x 14" x 9" soft, carry-on travel bags with packing cubes for our clothing.
We soon realized that this did not allow us any space to bring anything back.
For this reason, we purchased a single, hard-covered, 4-wheel standing piece of luggage which we checked.
One last recommendation: take (2) pairs of comfortable shoes! We walked 8 to 10 miles every day.
We assure you, your feet will appreciate it!
